Post 30-Day Declutter Challenge

I did it! it was tough! But I'm so glad I did it, it gave me a chance to start the new year right by reflecting on things I no longer need. Just looking at my apartment looks so minimalist ! JUST KIDDING! It's not bear, but really living with enough. I can start fresh by parting with things I no longer need or have any use. Today, I feel much lighter and liberated. I recently celebrated a birthday and was constantly bombarded, reminded on email and texts, that it was a birthday. No, it wasn't friends who texted me, nor family, I usually get a phone call - old school way to wish me well on my birthday. 30-Day Declutter Challenge: Day 1

Starting today, January 1, 2025 , I'll begin my journey to declutter items found in my 450 square foot apartment in San Francisco . It's been something I've always wanted to do. We don't realize how many things we bring into our home until its too late. We constantly ask ourselves do we need it? Do we keep it? Do we toss it? Has my relationship changed with this item, does it still have purpose? Starting today, this all changes. Every post, will indicate how many items I'm parting with or tossing with a photo of the items. By the end of the month I hope to have tossed a fair number of things I no longer need. Here we go. No Strings Attached: Starbucks Offers 1 Day of Free Coffee

Today, Starbucks offered anyone with a Starbucks account , I imagine an opportunity to enjoy a tall coffee or ice coffee . When I think of these offers, I always try to take advantage. But generally, there's always a hidden agenda. The fact that your walking into their store to get a "free" coffee, you will have the an opportunity to make more purchases since you've been "gifted" a free coffee. Marketing tactics tends to work. I preordered on my Starbucks app and discovered they threw in a coupon that's $3.00 off any specialty drink . Naturally, I fell for it. I ended up ordering a drink I've always wanted to get but the drink was up north of almost $8.00! But, I said, ok, they have me here, let me treat myself a little instead of just a cup of joe . At least I'm aware of the tactic. In the future, I would make it a point of sticking to the original incentive and leave it at that. I ended up with a tasty specialty drink, Cinnamon Dolce Lat...

Simple. Beer. "Bread" Budget.

The other night, I opened my fridge to see what's needed to be used before it loses its "fridge" life. I found a recently opened Guinness bottle of beer ; capped with a wine stopper. Simple thought, beer bread . The basics in my kitchen pantry, flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, egg, and butter. Yum! Raw batter in loaf dish Immediately removed from dish Couple of slices. Work with what I have. Excited! Cost? Nothing, no reason to step out to the grocery store on a cold spring morning in San Francisco . See simple recipe and images below. Add butter SIMPLE RECIPE: 3 cups all purpose flour 4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1/4 cup sugar 1 egg 1 beer ( in this case Guinness beer ) Mix flour, baking powder, and salt with sugar.
